In summer, Salzburg is a real paradise for cyclists - see the web links on the right-hand side.
In recent years, cyclists have become a regular part of our valued clientèle. The Mozart, Tauern, Alpe Adria and Salzkammergut cycle paths are all just a short ride away. Our services for cyclists include an indoor parking area, drying room, tool kit for minor repairs, a nearby bike repair shop and lots of information about cycling in the area.
Mr Reichl, the owner of the hotel, is himself a keen cyclist and will be happy to give you a few hot tips for your cycling tour. And for those looking to avoid all that tedious packing and unpacking of the saddlebag, simply try the “Cycling Star” day trips.
There are numerous exciting tours that you can enjoy from Salzburg itself. We would be happy to prepare a bespoke tour for you on request.
Running, Nordic Walking or simply exploring the countryside
It is only about 200 metres from the hotel to the banks of the Salzach, where you can give free rein to your passion for jogging or Nordic Walking. A pocket running guide is available free of charge from Customer Services at the Schloss Mirabell or from Citizens' Advice Centres.
The most popular route is the 2.5 km-long Hellbrunner Allee, to which some runners like to add a 2 km-long circuit round the Hellbrunner Park. If you do not want to go so far, you can try the circuit round the Leopoldskroner lake or in the Volksgarten park.

Climbing, bouldering, mountaineering and more
Salzburg is also a bouldering town. Whether you want to go climbing outdoors right by the Salzach, just 1 km downstream from here, or visit BoulderTown at the high school: in Salzburg's climbing centres you will find plenty of climbing experts who will give you the professional training you need for your expedition. For example, the Salzburg/Itzling indoor climbing centre is only 1.8 km from the hotel (qualified instructors in performance sports, amateur climbing and outdoor activities training).
